Quick Start
Get started with Substash in under 2 minutes.
1. Install the extension
- Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for "Substash"
- Click "Add to Chrome"
- Find the extension in your browser's toolbar (you may need to click the puzzle icon and pin it)
2. Sign in (optional)
Substash requires you to sign in to enable cloud sync across your devices.
- Click the Substash icon in your toolbar
- Enter your email address
- Check your inbox for a one-time password
- Enter the code to complete sign-in
This passwordless flow works for both new and returning users.
3. Add your first subscription
- Click the "+ New" button
- Enter the subscription details:
- Name: The service name (e.g., Netflix)
- Cost: The amount you pay
- Currency: The currency you're billed in
- Billing cycle: Monthly, yearly, etc.
- Start date: When the subscription began
- Optionally add:
- Trial period: If you're on a free trial
- Website URL: This auto-populates the service logo
- Notes: Any additional information
- Click "Save"
What's next?
Now that you've added your first subscription, you can:
- Manage subscriptions - Edit, organise, and track your subscriptions
- Set up email alerts - Get notified before trials end and renewals occur
- View insights - Track your spending patterns
- Configure currency - Set your preferred base currency
